- Head to the counter marked Online Appointment it has a shorter queue than the general line
- Show your confirmation message or screenshot
- Pay the ₹50 registration fee and collect your token number
- Go to the waiting area of your department
- Watch the display screen or listen for announcements, your token number will be called
- Describe your symptoms clearly, mention how long you have had them
- Hand over any old reports or prescriptions at the start of the consultation
- The doctor may prescribe medicines, order tests, or schedule a follow-up
- Collect all paperwork before leaving, prescription, test slips, and any receipts

What are the OPD timings at KGMU, Lucknow?
+KGMU OPD runs from 8 AM to 2 PM, Monday to Saturday. Try to arrive 15–20 minutes before your appointment time so you can complete registration at the counter without rushing.
How do I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
+If you booked by call, just call us back and we’ll reschedule or cancel your slot. Let us know at least 24 hours before your appointment time.
If you filled in the form online, the form portal doesn’t support changes, in that case, visit the hospital counter directly or call us to book a fresh slot.
What documents should I bring on the day?
+Carry any one government ID: Aadhaar card, voter card, or driving licence. Also bring:
- Your booking confirmation (SMS or printed slip)
- Old prescriptions or medical reports if this is a follow-up
- ₹50 for the registration fee at the counter
What are the total fees for an OPD visit?
+Registration at the counter costs ₹50. Consultation charges vary by department, many are free or nominal, with a maximum of around ₹100–₹200 for specialist consultations.
If you are from a low-income family, you can ask at the hospital about the free treatment card scheme.
Can I book an appointment for a family member?
+Yes. When calling, simply mention that the appointment is for a family member and provide their name and age. You don’t need a separate phone number for them.
If you’re filling in the form online, you’ll need to add them as a family member in your account before selecting their name during booking.
What if I don’t have internet access to book online?
+Just give us a call no internet or smartphone required. If you do have access, the online form at kgmu.org works on any browser. Or visit the hospital directly to register in person.
What if I arrive late for my appointment?
+A delay of up to 30 minutes is generally accommodated, but patients are called by token number and time slot. If you think you’ll be late, call us ahead so we can note it.
What should I do in an emergency?
+Do not wait for an OPD appointment in an emergency. Go directly to the KGMU Emergency Department, which is open 24 hours, 7 days a week.
